Shelly L. Hall, M.D.

Dr. Hall was recruited to Clay County in 1992 by Nemours Children’s Clinic to staff its rural primary care clinic in Green Cove Springs. The clinic was acquired by Dr. Hall in 2000 and subsequently moved to its current location in Fleming Island. Dr. Hall and her husband live in the Lake Asbury area and have two grown children. They are now the proud parents of 4 dogs, 12 cats, and a potbelly pig named Hamlet.

 

Dr. Hall is board certified in pediatrics and a member of the following professional organizations:

  • Duval County Medical Society
  • Florida Medical Association

 

Amy L. Garrett, M.D.

Medical School: Medical College of Pennsylvania
Residency: Naval Medical Center, San Diego CA
Board Certification: American Board of Pediatrics

 

Dr. Garrett graduated with honors from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. After two years as a staff pediatrician at Naval Hospital Beaufort she promoted to Head of the Department of Pediatrics. Following her honorable discharge from the United States Navy, Dr. Garrett entered private pediatric practice in Jacksonville. Dr. Garrett joined Island Pediatrics in 2001.


Dr. Garrett is board certified in pediatrics. and a member of the following professional organizations:

  • American Academy of Pediatrics
  • Clay County Medical Association
  • Florida Medical Association

 

Jennifer Fordan-Herman, M.D.


Medical School: University of Florida
Residency: University of Miami
Board Certification: American Board of Pediatrics

 

Dr. Fordan-Herman is proud to call Jacksonville her hometown. She grew up on the Westside and graduated as valedictorian from Forrest High School in 1987. She graduated summa cum laude from FSU with a degree in biology then obtained her MD degree from the University of Florida.  After completing her pediatric residency in 1997 she has worked in Florida, Virginia, and Alabama. She joined Island Pediatrics in 2010 and is happy to be back home. Her husband, Dr. Michael Herman is a gastroenterologist and they have three children. She is board certified in pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Jacksonville Medical Club. 

 

Laura Dunton, A.R.N.P.

Undergraduate: University of Florida
Graduate: University of Florida

 

Laura joined Island Pediatrics in 2008. She was born and raised in St. Petersburg and attended the University of Florida where she received her ARNP degree. She enjoys Gator games, running with her Great Dane and spending time with her husband and 3 year old daughter. She attends the Ortega United Methodist Church and is active in Bible Study Fellowship.
